The search for a decent Tattoo machine (and a starter kit.)

Ok so... here it goes. The backstory is that about ten years + ago... I actually "did" tattoos. I bought a machine off of a friend for a friend and I who promised to pay me back his half... as he was already ready to go and had been an accomplished Tattooist for a long long time.
Problem is my friend, Jeff, was a real bum. He did help guide my progress for around six months and "borrowed" the machine(s) to take a short month trip up to Apple Valley, CA (tweaker land.)

He never came back.

hope springs eternal

the charm bracelet on my wrist has healed nicely.

Now have to go get the dove on the underside of my wrist touched up a little and that's about it.

I am now in anticipation of a hope springs eternal heart design to go on my upper left shoulder blade.

it's a design by anne lynne.

i fell in love with the design when i first saw it and i like what it embodies.

semi-charmed kind of life

My first tattoo in tribute to my grandfather + grandmother.

Everything went well and it was everything I had envisioned and then some.

My grandfather made me a charm necklace when I was 6 years old and I still remember the story he me when he gave it to me.
November 9th marked one year since his passing.
So this charm bracelet was in tribute to him.
It's five charms in total on my right wrist:
a ballerina, ballerina slippers, a rose [for my grandmother], a dove [ i released a dove at his funeral], and the clover is for me because I love clovers + what each petal stands for.

first tattoo experience

I got my first tattoo when i was 16, wasn't really sure what i was getting my self in to. I lived in japan at the time, i went around shopping for shops around tokyo and yokohama. i finally found a shop that i liked and felt comfortable in, talked to one of the artists(whom im still good friends with to this day) had a sketch drawn up, made an appointment. then i had to wait about a month and a half. it was well worth the wait, even though the tattoo i got isnt anything that i would get now-a-days, i still love it. (its an newschool ish dragon, blue yellow, lots of color)

See My Ink launches in it's entirety

Finally, the veil has been lifted, and SeeMyInk.com has been launched for both Artists and Enthusiasts. I'm really glad to see this project at the point that it is now. It's definitely something that I feel proud of, and I feel like has good visual appeal.

I am not saying that it's perfect. There will likely be some quirks to deal with, but for the moment, I'm just really happy to see it nice and smooth as it is.

Search functionality is a bit limited, but that will come once there's enough content to have to deal with searching through. Smiling

Rock on, and check it out!

Going to start adding content to see where everything appears...

Hope to post small amount of pictures of tattoos I have done... including, designed in concept as well. My own on my person and all the ones I'll be getting. I'm big on really making sure when anyone gets one, even me to consider the advice of really thinking the design through.

"Summer Ink"

Just wrapped on a TV pilot...learned a very valuable lesson that is probably common knowledge for most ink enthusiasts, but apparently it's best to not get ink done in the summer months as it's actually not good for the tattoos. Go figure, it seems like that's the busiest time of the year for tatts...

And the #1 advice from the show, make sure the art means something to you cuz it's going to be with you for LIFE.

A tale of SeeMyInk

This site started out as a light bulb over my head about a year ago. I figured there should be a great place where people could post their tattoo pictures, tell their tattoo stories, and share in the greatness that is body ink.

I also figured that there should be a great place for tattoo artists to spread the word about their trade, and show off their skills.

So, I started out with the first incarnation, which worked, and was good. The problem was that I didn't have the time to devote to getting the word out, and making it great.
